CoC: Color of Clowns

Blame the People in Charge
‎
I'll be real for a second.

I've been depressed as hell the last month, and I've come to honestly realize most of the problems in my life are a direct result of my self hatred.

I hate myself, blame others for why I feel that way, or blame myself, and nothing gets resolved.

This chapter is a fantastic chapter because it's legitimate life advice from Oda/Iva.

You can't love other people if you hate yourself. Because if you want those people to love you, and you're constantly hurting yourself, you have to accept that the suffering you're giving yourself is hurting them, too. That's why self-sacrificial love doesn't work. Because if someone loves you, they don't want you to sacrifice yourself, and cut yourself up. They want you to treasure yourself.

I'm gonna try to re-read this chapter a few times after it comes out, and try to actually love myself properly. Not in a narcissistic way, but cutting out behaviors that hurt me, and actually praising myself.

I've just spent years beating the shit out of myself, and it hasn't done shit for me or anyone else.

Loving yourself isn't about justifying your flaws or making excuses. It's about treating your own self with respect.

I'm glad Sanji's CoC is a really cool meaningful emotional reveal, the fans that have been defending this character for years deserve this win so much.

:frodohug:

If Zoro was mentally nerfed swordlickers would be losing their mind.
“Zoro was at 1% this whole time! If Zoro stop being nerfed he is gonna solo the whole universe! That is peak writing!!!“

Everytime Sanji gets his shine they lose their shit, absolute clowns…
:ClownStare:

Zolo is already nerfed 100% all time cuz he is not the MC , oda always gatekeeping him so luffy can shine .

Oda when he write zolo he dont think he just put the first thoughts on his head and then quickly move to other plots.

While with sanji he is at ease cuz even if he gave him complete arcs it will not threat to his mc.

Zolo is just too good.

:Ragnir_Regret:
I feel you broski. Sanji is so relatable to me as well. I've been criticized my whole childhood and I still cannot overcome the lasting effect it has on my self-esteem. I'm constantly seeking external validation, I hate myself for not being able to pull myself together, I'm so easily annoyed with myself for the same things that I forgive others for.
Sending you lots of virtual hugs.

No shade, I think this resonates with a lot of fans and young men in general these days.

I wish certain people from my past would've reached this conclusion before things fell apart

It just sucks when you realize the way we put ourselves down was trained into us by systems, and that A LOT of them do it fucking intentionally.

We can both overcome it! Today, I wrote, "I choose to love myself", and it felt more powerful putting the "I choose". IDK if that could help.

I will just swear myself out for stupid crap, it's bad.

Big virtual hugs. Everything is always changing. So we should choose to change for the better.

Same. It can be so damn hard to stop a toxic spiral. Especially in modern times. I've spent a lot of time wondering how I can help others when I can't help myself, and the answer was help myself so I could get there.
