Unless Oda's pacing is really, really shitty and jumps around in a very odd way, should take less than 10 chapters to get Zoro and Sanji in position to fight King and Queen or at least have a face off between these characters.
It's obviously too late for that now. Zoro is on the stage to fight off the Yonko, he has not the luxury to abandon his quest and go to search King (for what also?). Furthermore, he won't stop having his own sight focused on Kaido until he is offed here. So any other scenario would also be extremely unlikely.

How can you believably set up Zoro and King, though? Let's say King does come to the top of the dome, what would force Zoro specifically to fight him? Put yourself in Zoro's shoes, he's in the middle of battling two Emperors, and King suddenly shows up. How is he weighting his options? He'll obviously choose the greater threats which are Kaido and Linlin.

And now King, why would King specifically choose Zoro? Wouldn't he go after Luffy who's the most perceived threat to Kaido there? Or Momonosuke, the character he hasn't stopped mentioning since he was freed by Sanji.

I ask this as someone who likes the Zoro/King matchup, but what would reasonably bring it together at this point? Oda had the perfect set up just a chapter ago. Zoro flying with Marco and battling King, the last obstacle to Kaido, but Oda completely side-stepped it in favor of the Emperor face off.

I mean hey, i would not put it past you to think Whos who is Luffy's fight if Oda draws them both in the same room at some point :milaugh:
yeah cause when oda gives zoro odens sword, makes him say hes here to slice kaido up, makes him skip king and queen to fight kaido, outright says hes one of the pirates that will lead the new era and take down kaido it means hes fighting king.

If King crashes the party and goes after Luffy, wouldn't it make sense if Luffy's right hand man, Zoro, stopped King to protect his captain ? It's his role after all. And if he sees he's a swordsman, that will give him another reason to fight him.

But then there's also Kaido and Linlin there who are also threats to Luffy. Like I said, Zoro's prioritizing Kaido.

But all raid oda made zoro purposly not be that guy who lets luffy go ahead to hold off an enemy as he wants to fight kaido himself
he even ignored queen and told luffy to take him up with him instead of stopping queen to let luffy go
then oda seperated zoro from luffy and made sanji and jinbe be the ones who jump off instead to get luffy to the roof whilst having marco take zoro past king and queen
so why would oda undo all that ?

Kaido and Big Mom will have to deal with Law, Kid and Killer as well, not only Luffy. But if King attacks Luffy, the only person who would be willing to help him is Zoro. Plus Luffy's priority is Kaido and although it's Zoro's too, protecting his captain comes first.

If King's at the top, he'd have to deal with the Supernovas too.

Law's Luffy's ally, so Zoro wouldn't be the only one willing to help.

Because he needed Zoro to get on the roof so he can fight Kaido too. Now that Zoro is on the roof, he's guaranteed to fight Kaido even if Kings shows up. Now all King has to do is to fly to the roof so Zoro can fight both.

Which ones ? Kid and Killer don't give a shit about Luffy, they will only aim for Kaido's head. Law is Luffy's ally but he's also a tsundere who acts like he doesn't care about Luffy, he still treats him as a rival and won't help him unless he absolutely has to. And he won't have to if Zoro is there to protect Luffy.
