enma does not release more ryou than zoro can on his own
it releases more ryou than zoro wants to and as a result causes large strikes . get that right

zoro is able to control how much he actually cuts at this point as seen with the bamboo sticks. There's a difference between scarring and hurting/damaging. katakuri hurt luffy, so did crocodile, but akainu gave him his scar.
enma is not the only blade that cuts more than necessary, mihawk tells you his blade knows no restraint implying pretty much something similar. I suppose they follow the same path.
