he got destroyed off the coast of elbaf, so if he's not dead and drowned, this is the place he'd probably wash up on shore. kid is a very boring character to me but if he isn't dead, he's probably in the underworld.

I think it is the giants, the contract is just forced. It seems to require both kingship and spilled blood. Brogy was turned because he was named king of Elbaf and then Imu shot off his hand, spilling blood in the circle.
not sure if i follow the rest of this, but respect for understanding the Usopp arc in Water 7/Enies Lobby. That wasn't a betrayal, that was Usopp fighting over what he viewed as a betrayal by his captain. And if Usopp hadn't done that and fixed up the Merry past what was reasonable or sensible...
this is the opposite of how the story portrayed him. oden was a strong, influential man who had a choice between being a true hero to his people or following his dreams, and he chose his dreams and abandoned his family and friends. the whole theme of duty vs desire and how this may have helped...
