Imcel never defeated Nika :Garp_Laugh: In fact he never met him. He only has a relationship with Soyboy (a failed Nika). Nika's opponent was the Earth god who "shrouded the world in death and darkness." Blackbeard with his darkness power is the only one who can nullify Nika's abilities.

The only character that Oda consistently adds lore and development to. Easily the best written character within the story.

I agree, Oda seems to want him to be something of an Itachi/Urahara-esque character where he is somewhat guiding the story from the sidelines. His mother's lineage might also come into play later on but we'll have to see.
