Didn't Oda have an interview on how he didn't know how they were going to beat Kaido? If Oda had knowledge on Luffy's fruit at the time of that interview, why wouldn't he have known? Shouldn't it have been obvious how he was going to beat Kaido?
The fruit itself is the retcon. Luffy's symbolism...
This seems like the new version of Blackbeard becoming a Warlord just to gain access to Impel Down in order to beef up his crew, the same crew that killed Whitebeard.
I'm actually really curious at what Blackbeard hopes to gain as a world government-affiliated king.
Probably the retconning of Luffy's fruit being a mythical zoan with the model of a concept Oda didn't even introduce until the middle of Wano Kingdom. That's such a huge plot point for the overall story of One Piece, it's really bizarre Oda didn't build up to it better.
I never said you are someone's equal because you can clash with them, if that's the case I'd be arguing that Vista is equal to Mihawk. I said Shanks was portrayed as Whitebeard's equal WHEN THEY CLASHED, this is not an opinion. This is a fact, don't argue this, you'll look foolish. The Wano...
Shanks was portrayed as Whitebeard's equal pre-timeskip when they clashed, whereas Mihawk at Marineford was portrayed as someone who wasn't even at his level.
I never understood how people could think Mihawk was Shank's equal after that.
I would imagine Mihawk's bounty is probably around where Oda wants Zoro's to be at the end of the series.
So the bounty of Shank's crew is very important, like how much lower Benn Beckman is from Shanks is probably around how much lower Zoro's will be from Luffy's. So I see Mihawk being between...
This is probably your strongest point, you are not lying. Kuro was one of the weakest characters in the entire story, but he was PORTRAYED as a really serious threat. In comparison Kaido, King, and Queen never felt threatening, which is so bizarre considering their role in the story. I don't...
Characters in One Piece will be as strong as Oda needs them to be for the sake of the plot.
When he wants to hype up the Whitebeard pirates, he'll portray the commanders as equal to the Admirals. When he needs to hype up the Admirals for the final part of the story, he'll portray the Admirals...
Literally the last time we saw Buggy he was riling up his men to take on the Marines who wanted to capture him during the abolishment of the Shichibukai system. The next time we see him he's a Yonko.
What on earth could have possibly happened? Did they send Kizaru and he got BODIED!?
Wow. Oda is normally awesome when it comes to writing post-arc stuff, and Wano is so long I really would have forgiven him if he took his time to tie up all the loose plot points, but him skipping seven days is really shocking. Granted, we still have bounties, and Greenbull is going to get...
I actually like Yamato but looking at the entire story from Punk Hazard to Wano Kingdom, the idea that Yamato would end up being the next strawhat member is pretty hilarious. Like nothing about her character felt like it set her up as being "The one to join the strawhats.". But to be fair...
