Your example is flawed. Fire is considered a weakness to them because it adversely effects their abilities. It’s more effective on them than others because of that. Swords don’t weaken or stop Luffy’s fruit from working. It just has the same effect on him that it has on everyone else.

Even if we remove G5 he had a full fight with Katakuri after being impaled by his trident. Sure swords hurt him but they aren’t his weakness. His weakness is the same as every other devil fruit users, being submerged in water.

Not having residence doesn’t mean your weak to something. Being weak to means you’d take more damage than a normal character form said attack. What other character is taking the attacks Luffy just took?
