Yep, GoT was a generational success, people just had lower standards for the writing of the boys, which is why the backlash isn't as relatively severe.

It had around three seasons of meaningful content, if we are honest. Making it last an entire five seasons was unnecessary, these last two ones have been plagued by filler.

Not really, "well-known" and "popular" aren't really the same thing, One refers to how much people know about you, and the other is how much people actually like you and, in this case, are willing to consume your media. (Donald Trump is far more well-known than he is popular, for example.)...
