Luffy doesn’t drink alcohol as he doesn’t like the taste of it. In the bar they had the same drink and the same cherry pie. Luffy liked the drink BB didn’t. Luffy didn’t like the cherry pie, BB did.
I assume BB switched to Rum because he didn’t like the drink.

That’s how I understand it too. Now the question is. Does he use the lifespan to keep himself alive or was the eternal youth surgery performed on Imu? And he uses th me lifespan for other things, like for example keep the gorosei alive?
Imu took some of their life span, similar to what big mom did. He has book and summons weapons and can transform. What is this power and why does he take their life span if they are now immortal? This is getting interesting.
