We have seen him in the Roger Pirates, as a baby, and when he was a yonko in the first chapter. He is going to appear in a Mihawk flashback most likely. The only reason we'd need a personal flashback is to explain how he became a Yonko.

There's no Mihawk flashback, that duel probably will be talked about more when we get there. That duel doesn't really pertain to Shanks, whatever matters about Shanks is the god valley current flashback, and the Oden flashback. He is just showing up more in flashbacks.
