Sommers was only introduced as Knight of God, just like Gunko and Killingham.
The years of service probably give him an implicit authoritiy on the other two, but it was trumped the moment Imu took Gunko as a vessel.
I see your point and I can agree on Killingham. But Gunko? Imu him/herself noticed that she's opening her human side more and more, and she's getting difficult to control.
I doubt Gunko will return to Mary Geoise, she either gets "saved" and taken away from Imu, somehow... or she meets her end here.
