Oda has oversimplified the story for every weird power not link to devil fruit to be haki. His last haki plaything is Conqueror infusion. Therefore black blade is a haki based power which is either achievable thanks to conqueror coating or by an higher haki power. What you got to keep in mind...

I personally think that Oda never really give Zoro and Sanji their due respect and made decision regarding them to make them less popular. But that just me.

One thing that is intereting is that it confirms that Sanji being equal to Zoro is a core component of his character as much as him being a cook. While Sanji does not have any importance in Zoro characterization.
