It make sense for Sanji to have his story and his powers explained. Because its connected to the bigger scheme of things in the world. Where Zoro's whole thing is Spiritual/Nature/Ancient. a Literal Moss if you will.
That is what i am referring to. Ryuma is the important factor here not Zoro. When we know more about the past Ryuma will be more relevant and we will keep connecting his actions to Zoro.

How? everything he had in his entire time in the whole story was building up something towards Wano. It did pay off in the "background" kind of way. We learned of a "connection" between him and the land of Wano and the origins of his Swords.

I think Oda is writing Zoro in a way that "he is an incarnation" of a "past" character living in this world. And his story will never be at the center of any plot. Just a hint here and there.
