Big Mom Pirates
  • Big Mom dead
  • territories are probably being taken over just like it happened to WB pirates after WB died
  • Germa destroyed WCI in the cover story and probably something else happened
Kid
  • weak
  • weak crew, only Killer is notable and he is still weak
  • no territories
Law
  • same as Kid, only doesn't have a notable crewmember who is stronger than fodder

Seriously, Buggy only became a yonko by default because there are just no strong crews left.
  • Is known for his history with Roger, Whitebeard and Shanks
  • Whitebeard called his 1st impel down crew strong
  • Was a warlord
  • Has giants in his crew, which Big Mom wanted
  • Has his own island and possibly more territories
  • Something happened during offscreen for Buggy to have so much money, which could've resulted in even more followers joining him
  • Has Crocodile (who probably has his own army with him) and Mihawk (who beats shitters like Law and Kid) serving him
Like who else could've even became a yonko if not Buggy? There just were no one left. It was a default win for Buggy

kid is weak but buggy is a suitable candidate? the wg should think highly of him, after all he was one of the 3 people who brought down kaido and big mom.

They were the best available option yes, and people forget that in the One Piece world, Buggy is thought to be crazy strong, even if we the readers know that's wrong.

Katakuri and the rest of Big Mom's crew aren't that weak imo. Still pretty capable. Unless they and their territories got clapped by someone by now.

Katakuri, Smoothie, Oven, Daifuku, Perospero...

To be honest, Buggy's journey in-universe is what you would expect from a Top Tier. Yes, we know how weak he is, but his accomplishments are no joke. In fact, he has almost the same reputation as Shanks: ExRoger Pirates' member, successor of Roger, close to Rayleigh, a crew of Ex-Shichibukai, Big Organization, has his own territory.

It is not by default, anyone with such high profile would be a contender for Pirate King. I also thought it was a Joke, but by this chapter I do not know anymore. Buggy might be weak, but a crew of Ex-Shichibukai is something to fear.
