Stussy called Big Mom by her first name, implying they knew each other relatively well. Not really surprising that Big Mom never brought anything up, because it won’t have been the first time the two met.
Judge and Stussy I believe we do see talking to each other, but we don’t see about what.
Whereas WCI was the first time Big Mom met Sanji. If Sanji was the adoptive son of one of her old crewmates, that should have been brought up at some point. Even Struesen could have mentioned something, say he’s reminded of a cook he once knew.
Ultimately Sanji and Zeff was a far more important part of the arc (and One Piece) than Stussy making the complete absence of anyone caring about Zeff as an old pirate stand out.

Well, there’s at least the hint of Stussy calling Big Mom Linlin. There’s nothing at all for Zeff. I just think given the importance of Zeff it would have at least a hint in an arc that revolves around Sanji.
I’m like 90% sure that as part of the Tea Party before the assassination there’s a bunch of group shots and we see Judge and Stussy talking to each other, but it’s been a long time since I read WCI.

I use to think so, but now I doubt it, because Zeff's highlighted accomplishment was being a powerful Pirate Captain, who was able to sail the Grand line for a year, and make it back unscathed. In that year he created a journal of his Adventures and findings. If he was a former Rocks pirate, then that means he had already spent years in the New World. Although it could just be one of those instances where none of the Rocks pirates like to talk about it. I am curious however to know what crew he used to be apart of, where he was the cook.
Zeff and Kozaborou were the chef and the smith in Rocks Pirates. Nami's real mother was a Rocks Pirate too. Franky's "Pirate" Parents were a Rocks Pirate too. Chopper's fruit was used by a Rocks Pirate member. Robin's dad was a Rocks Pirate Member. Ussop granddad was the sniper in Rocks Pirate too. But most importantly Luffy's Mother!!!
If i don't remember wrong Sanji once said Zeff was a cook of a famous pirate but i am not sure since he might have just said famous pirate. If there is a hint Zeff might be from Rocks only thing i can think of it is Baratiere being a big fish and Mytical bird Rock being a fish and the leave ocean etc... Zeff not being a geniue good guy and robbing civilians might also be a hint of him being a member of Rocks but who knows.
If Xebec had mythical bird Rock fruit maybe Sanjis fusing mythical bird theory be about that but i wouldnt bet on it since so much of a reach.
