Kaido and Whitebeard were Nakama at a time, and Kaido clearly had respect for him by saying that Whitebeard did it right when it came to his death. I think Kaido was coming to Marineford to HELP Whitebeard save Ace, because Kaido hates the WG, not Whitebeard.
Kaido on God Valley wasn't strong enough to fight Roger, IMO, since he and Garp tag-teamed Rocks.
We've seen no evidence of Rocks attacking his own crew, so I doubt Kaido would have fought with him, especially since he seems to respect Rocks.
And I think Shanks didn't fight Kaido, just told him that "Hey, you can go attack Marineford. My crew will just take back Oden's country, Wano, while you're gone, okay, Kaido?"
Kaido could have gotten scarred by a lot of characters (if Zoro could scar Kaido on the rooftop Mihawk obviously could) by swords/elemental attacks, but, he never fought them.
This is why swordsmanship matters in this series: Big Mom is more powerful than Zoro, but, she couldn't scar Kaido fighting with him for, what was it, two days? And Zoro scarred him while half dead. Swordsmen are dangerous BECAUSE their slashing attacks are much more likely to slice things apart then punches (obviously).
There's a reason the only two characters to scar Kaido are master swordsmen (Zoro and Oden).

Out of kaido’s top 5 was oden the only one to cut him? We know he was the only one to scar him
Besides oden we also know his scabbards and zoro later cut him. With the main person on his mind still being oden
Same with Zoro having Enma is why he scarred Kaido a little
Enma alone gives you the chance to scar Kaido with your best attack
Oden was just too powerful so he made a bigger scar and weakened Kaido with his finisher, that's how he gave Kaido ptsd
It doesn't matter if he fought the others in a death fight.
Only Oden will be the one that will perma-scar Kaido because of their fight style.

Literally makes so much sense, Kaido couldn’t possibly be that dumb to let the WG just off him as he focused on WB, that being said Marineford is screwed when Flaming Drum Dragon pops out.
And we seen the sheer terror a single Lunarian replica unleashes on the battlefield and no one knows how to counter him:
King and Seraphim get vastly underestimated. King won a stamina battle against Marco, then went on to beat Sanji, then fight a stronger Zoro unleashed attack’s strong enough to cut down Kaido!
Look how paused Blackbeard was, he didn’t even beat S-Hawk because we know he will flee to prioritize weaker targets, meaning he clashed with a Yonko and left Amazon Lily without a bruise to show for it.
Emperor Luffy with heavy hitters like Zoro and Lucci right beside him couldn’t keep the Seraphim down despite pounding them around for half a day, Luffy straight up compares them to Kaido

Their techniques doesn't cut from the outside that would give people permascar.
So in theory, still, Oden would be the only one among the 5 that would give Kaido permascar.
