OK, so I changed my feelings and mind about this Sun god thing overall. From one point you can say that this whole Sun god reference was taken from nowhere, case Shandians brings the sacrifices for Sun god and wanted to kill Kalgara's daughter.
BUT let's talk about Shandians, who are they? We surely know that this people fought against some enemy to protect the poneglyph and won in the fight. Shandians has wings, liky sky people, so probably they come from some sky island. Maybe Shandia people come to Jaya threw that Big Beanstalk. One thing is important that Shandian's pray to Sun god. Thing with sacrifice could be added much later to their culture. Also there was statement that Shandia pray to their ancestors, which could lead to the thing that Sun god for Shandia was something bigger then just stupid culture. They respected him and wanted Sun god to protect em.
In the Skypia arc it was Luffy who fullfilled destined fate between Kalgara and Noland in the moment when every one prayed. SO basically Luffy was the answer from the God to Shandians. In that terms Sun God Nika could make much more sence. Also fishman chose Sun picture as their symbol. In fact this could actually mean that Oda really planned all this Nika stuff.
But the way how Oda introduced Nika to the story wasn't best way for sure. Still I'm not going to lie, Sun god Nika is something that Oda planned, at least at some sort of way. Still I feel that Oda tried to make explanation about Sun god Nika to simple, which breaked some story point with Gorosei and etc.
