he is simply talking abt how luffy's awakened state fights
u can see the similarity with how oda used doffy to describe boundman's fighting style
this is how oda tells the readers abt luffy's fighting style in his new form
like its so easy to figure this out
kaido talks abt how nika fights
doffy talks abt how boundman fights
gears are not
g4 is a big example
its not abt doing that or having to do that
its simply describing how luffy fights in that specific gear
and we really cant say if luffy can even awaken without advcoc
all of this is simply based on speculation
and only after fully mastering advcoc which built his body , he went through an awakening
