I feel like the fan-letter episode does a great job in showing us how some pirates and marines are just gods walking on earth. The difference in strength between your average citizen and your run of the mill commodore, or a semi notorious pirate like Bellamy, is astronomical to say the least.
are genetics a big factor in what determines if you will develop god-like strength? Or can anyone reach those levels thanks to Haki and hard work? At the very least, humans in One Piece have unimaginable physical potential. Maybe it relates back to how devil fruits come into being thanks to the desires of the collective.
What do you guys think?
Well technically anyone can use haki if their willl is strong enough… so just about anyone can become superhuman
but there’s also weird biological differences that just make certain people born superhuman
and the existence of Belo Betty’s fruit… Her fruit is described as only being able to increase people’s morale and spirit… that’s it… That’s the only thing we know it does… Yet we have direct evidence of a random civilian beating a 50 million berry bounty new world pirates the moment the get their “morale boost”
as a comparison, Post alabasta Zoro is a 30 million berry pirate and he was already throwing entire building with his hands back then
So there is a direct link between Spirit and physical ability… Belo Betty just increasing your spirit directly translates to fodder civilians actually becoming physically stronger in their bodies.
Therefore Haki, which is also spirit, can just increase a person’s body strength. Hence why Rayleigh said CoC just passively increases with a CoC user’s general strength. Like just becoming physically stronger through like working out makes your CoC haki stronger.
so yeah, basically there’s biological advantages anyone is born with that just makes some people freaks of nature, true, but if anyone, even fodder, somehow manage to train hard enough, anyone can become a superhuman since training increases your spirit and Spirit makes you stronger
