Character Discussion Will Shanks come back to Elbaf while the Strawhats are there?

I hope Shanks makes it back. I think Luffy reuniting with Shanks would have more impact now than it would later, in the middle of the Final War in full swing.
It kind of depends on what Shanks left to do?
Did he go out to claim Laugh Tale, like he said? If so, he's probably gone and we won't see him again until the final arc. Which means Shanks might be Luffy's final hurdle to getting the One Piece.
Did he go out so that he could meet up with Luffy? The Giants knew Luffy was on Egghead, so Shanks would have probably had a opportunity to know about that, too. If that's the case, it's a little odd Shanks wasn't alongside the Giants when they arrived. But, maybe he was taking his time? For reasons. Maybe Shanks just made a agreement to not directly fight the World Government? If so, then Shanks should be meeting Luffy anytime now.
Did he go out so that he could have a showdown with Blackbeard? Shanks has shown interest in taking Blackbeard off the board. If so...Shanks is going to lose. If only for storytelling reasons. I don't think Blackbeard can lose here, before facing off against Luffy. So, either Blackbeard runs away or finds a way to defeat Shanks. Blackbeard relies a lot on Fruits....but Shanks seems to rely a lot on his Haki. If Blackbeard can find a way to shut down Haki the same way he can shut down Fruit powers, then Shanks could get taken by surprise. Shanks may or may not make it back from something like this.
Did he go out to find The Man Marked By Flames? Or do something for the World Government? Or maybe meeting up with Garling and/or his theoretical twin?
There's a lot of things Shanks COULD be doing. I just hope one of those things leads to Shanks getting back to Elbaf to meet up with Luffy.
Because, Elbaf could be a arc all about reuniting with old friends. A breather before the Final War. Robin's probably going to reunite with Saul. It'd be nice if Luffy could reunite with Shanks. And Usopp could reunite with his dad. It'd give them all something to lose while we head into the Final War.
