However as you can see he is making monster that are imagined by children nightmare to attack the village. This action is completely against the will of his devil fruit. Just like what Oda said in the SBS, Lucci is in danger of losing himself to the devil fruit because he showed compassion towards his colleague which has a giraffe zoan, a predator caring for a prey is against the will of his devil fruit. I think Kirinham will succumb by his devil fruit.

Oda didn't draw cloud scarf on the beast pirate until(then he shows) Luffy awaken his devil fruit and Kaido told him he has awaken it.
Luffy has awaken his god fruit, it is reasonable to show awaken zoan than normal zoan just to level up the playing field. It's part of the progress of story.
We will see about the Kirin fruit in the next couple of chapters.
