Left with no reason, we come undone
Season 3 must be ass for him to quit, I would not be surprised if we get a Dragon Ball Evolution treatment
Yeah most likely as we're gonna be dealing with a lot more devil fruits and thus the hell of adapting zoans and logias too.

Given all the drama of the casting especially vivi and cobra and thus political strife that directly reflects on certain extremely horrific situations IRL atm too, it just feels like too much of a massive timebomb waiting to go off ironically with the pell and crocodiles bomb storyline too lol.

Also alabasta being such a huge, complex arc and also in scale with the setting can't be helping too.

But for all we know maybe he's dropping out due to Netflix or Oda but given he's such a superfan, its extremely weird for him to give up on this and especially unlikely for Oda to be the reason too.

As you said, the most likely option is the most obvious and simplest. It's gonna be a fucking disaster lol. Dragonball Evolution, Netflix Avatar TLA or even the much worser movie of ATLA too.

Awesome pfp BTW!

that randy guy is a mediocre op youtuber from back in the day now currently working for opla
production

this mf blatantly lies to push his own political agenda to the series lmaoo

as much as I hate the breaks, oda's heavy involvement in opla ensures it'll not be a clown fest like most major series (zoro Vs 100 assassins will be done right :steef:)

exactly is this guy a "fan" or a parasite who uses his "favourite series" to hijack and poison the series into becoming their agenda machine lol
randy is a shitty writer and every single one of his theories and takes on the storytelling of op manga are poorly thought out schizo crap or predicting the dumbest hackiest Marvel-brained slop possible and then going "damn i dont know if Oda can live up to this FIRE!". i have no idea how he got hired unless he's doing some little st james shit

He might not actually be quitting more like he is just taking a break.
Cap, you are no coming back if you quit of the project you have been working for 6 years. And if he comes back, it might be too late because they are already working on s3(Netflix is about to fuck this up).

That's bad news if they decide to keep going with the OPLA, it's just more work for Oda. Oda now will have to choose another person to take Matt's position (which means more breaks).

Bruh Netflix wanted to skip a bunch of arcs this season, we are beyond cooked without him(he stood up against them).

If you actually read his post he says that once he is refreshed he will come back for the new adventure that awaits.

That does imply that he could return again in the future for the OPLA.

Or maybe he really is done.

Also even if he really did quit, that doesn't mean Netflix can do whatever they want, Oda and Shueisha still have total control over the show.

The thing is, did he made any comment after they finished season 1?
I think this is his way to say goodbye to the fans. If it would be just a break, why making a announcment about it if they are in break anyway like how it was after season 1. For me it sound like he indeed stepped down.

From what I hear in lot of series/show, Netflix make things worse, this guy who had Oda trust, had a beef with the higher ends of Netflix stuff from the rumors I heard. And it take a lot of stamina to run such a show.

Oda and Shueisha wouldn´t be the first one who get cooked by the dumb decision of Netflix.
Maybe a reason why he stepped down, because he couldn´t take the shit of Netflix anymore.

Yeah, Netflix wanted to skip some arcs in S2 but Matt stood up against them.

It's going to be really hard to find somone to replace him, dude was the face of the OPLA. Matt was in every panel of the LA in events from Netflix, he even did streams talking with a bunch of OP youtubers and was in the marketing a lot. Basically Kevin Feige of Marvel lmaoo

By the way the fact of skipping some little arcs like Whiskey Peak was actually a good idea. I dont get the people who want a 100% copy of the manga translated to the live action. Its a different medium, that cant possibly last 40 seasons! Of course It needs some cuts!

By the way i am sorry for the Matt Owens news as he seemed a fan and a nice guy,but lets see who they will hire, maybe It could be a big name of the showrunning world, like "Joss Whedon level" (not Joss Whedon himself though, lol).

and Hollywood already can't keep their grubby hands to themselves, thinking the fans have finally accepted the 'message' and can't wait to double down.
Where have you seen this? I haven't been following production news on Season 2+ so not sure if the core team that worked on Season 1 has changed. Also, we really don't care man just write a show that doesn't disrespect the original story and characters and people will enjoy it lol
