Only Gunko as a young girl seems a recent addition in the HK
So Sommers and Killingham could have been in the God Valley back in the day
So high chance Both knows Gaban and already encounter each other in GV

The fact that Gaban doesn't know Sommers doesn't make it unexpected, it's a commonplace thing for someone who knows all the secrets and history of the world.

Some people seem to believe Gaban is Roger level and that even now he remains one of the stronger top-tiers.

No one of that level would ever struggle with these 3 HKs alone, let alone with help from Dorry and Brogy who are probably around YC1 themselves, and Jinbe who's probably around YC2/3. Plus the others for support, incl. Brook who can at least distract Gunko temporarily since she's a fan.

Even if all three of the HKs are Yamato/Law level they'd lose to the likes of old Whitebeard or any Admiral in this matchup. So if Gaban doesn't win here with all this support then it's because he's weaker than many people thought, simple as that.

For the HKs to win here without sustaining major injuries that'd take them out for the rest of the arc against a supposedly Admiral level Gaban, they'd have to individually be top-tiers themselves and that'd be ridiculous. So we'll see what happens - like I said, all eyes on Gaban.

seriously, think about it, can the thorns even damage the kid? The thorns only appear when you try and touch something you love, that’s the only condition in which we know the thorns can do damage… So what is the actual problem here?

Gaban’s kid surrounded by thorns, Gaban can’t go near him, so Gaban picks up an Axe and Cuts Sommers’ head off… why not?

Whatever the scenario is it will justify how Gaban may lose, assuming he loses. The only way Gabans strength would be put into question is if he loses in a straightforward combat scenario, if Oda has him willingly stand down, or be distracted/caught off guard then its justified without ruining his image. We have seen scenarios like this before, where a stronger characters loses to a weaker character because of a disadvantage.

It's not certain that Bartolomeo's barriers unbreakable, but even if it is, the Redhaired pirates managed to capture it, so it can be destroyed or not, but in the end there's a way to beat it(sommers).

There is zero tension on Elbaf rn, the SH's side is so heavily stacked compared to three featless Holy Knights whose top-tier leader just left them. Think we're all just wondering where tf Oda's going with this
