A question for everyone here who is from the United States: What is campus life like there ?

Another question related to this topic: Based on your own experiences, can you answer whether the infamous "high school stereotypes" are real or just a cancer made up by Hollywood ?
High school in the United States is known by people, through media representation , as these horrible places where smart and talented students don't get to enjoy the good things that people do with social connections, and are treated very poorly by the students who have good social lives.
I researched about it online, and everywhere it says that fiction is not reality, and that these stereotypes are oversimplified and generalized beliefs and ideas that are harmful to students in real-life.
Can you tell what the truth is ?

They are real to a degree after all, all stereotypes are just reality stretched out of proportion

You got you whole clique thing and all of that but it's not to the point Hollywood makes it seem

Hollywood would have you think the star quarterback would never be friends with the Anime kid or the Dnd nerd

But most of my good friends from high school was on the football team while I still had my nerdy clique at sat with at lunch

Of course everyone's has different experiences, plus I graduated a decade ago so nothing I say is concrete

These issues exist but it isn’t nearly as bad as it’s portrayed in movies

Everyone is pretty much cool with everybody

You have people from all walks of life with different personalities or interests coming together. Now obviously people that have the same hobbies or play the same sport grow closer to each other but that’s not a bad thing

In my experience pretty much everyone I met in highschool had their own friend group. No one was left out

Bullying (physically) was pretty much nonexistent and people would gang up on anyone that attempted it

It was a positive experience overall

The thing about the US is each place has their own situations when it comes to High School, we're a huge country divided into multiple states that run their schools different with different budgets. I think most of everything you see on TV is fiction/stereotypes still.

Not true at all from my PoV. High school life was pretty chill and was rather boring. I guess it really depends on the location and if your school is public or private.

My technical course and the achievement of my goals for this year are going well so far, so I'm bumping the thread with a new tag list, featuring everyone I've discovered who is from the United States through their posts in the general chat section. This can help reinforce my enthusiasm for both the present and the future.

Big Bang is definitely not one of US(A), but I didn’t have a traditional college experience (went to community for two years, did online for the last two, lived in apartments with high school friends throughout) so I couldn’t say much about what campuses are like…😔😭

No. Read the OP post to understand the thread.
I have a long way to go before I can study abroad in the United States. I have a lot of things to do, from mastering my independence as an adult to studying at college and university here in my country.
As the US will go through difficult times with Trump's new term, these will not be good times to do many things there, such as moving. It may take some time for things to get back to normal there,so I will use that time to achieve fulfillment right here in my hometown. Someone who is as young and still building their life as I am cannot be rushed into something as big as studying abroad.

Yeah your OP was back in Nov, wasn't sure how far along you were in the process.
