I think that a decade long multi-millionaire company that deal with several IPs has more important things to deal with than petty internet agenda.
Toei as a company is all for the money. If they chose to depicted Sanji this way it is because they think (and are probably right) that the character generate more interest like this. It is also why they overuse Nami and Robin as fanservice tools.

This isn't JUST Sanji this affected.

By Toei having Sanji heart-eye Bonney, when Oda deliberately never crossed that line.
They have now made both Sanji AND Oda look bad, as something the author did when he didn't.
Add Oda's friendship he has with Watsuki (because it's wrong to drop a friend for anything.)
And people will now wrongly start to accuse Oda of making his main cast (the role models to kids) pedophiles. Following in Watsuki's footsteps.
This was a gross change on Toei's part.

Now Toei thinks he needs to show damage and have Nami have to bubble S-Shark to save Sanji???
