Powers & Abilities Kid really was eliminated?

#26
Golden role of op if there isn't a body they are probably alive. Kidd is strong and he can be a good ally eos if oda wants to give him that role. Kidd has really 2 route to return either a ally of luffy or joining cross guild for revenge on shanks. If he joins luffy he buffs them with another ally against the wg. If he joins cg he buffs them to make them more of a real yonko crew.

Kidd is obviously not finished. His role too important in the story, and he is also a rival to Luffy.
Kidd was just unlucky to come across and opponent who does do goody shit. Replace Kidd pirates with SHP, and even Luffy and the crew would have gotten same treatment from Shanks.

The sign of a winner is that he tries again.

This constant slander is getting old.
In Odas Luffy tale everyone else will end up 2nd place or worse anyways.
Might aswell slander everyone except the golden boy.
Why single out Kidd exactly?

The way it happened, Oda insisting on humiliating him and even making his crew hand over everything to Shanks. Then his ship being destroyed by the giants. It makes you think that Oda no longer wants to draw this character in the work.
That’s how you know he surely isn’t dead. Because Oda doesn’t write deaths that way.

I cannot think of a single instance where a character is arbitrarily brutally murdered and humiliated for the sake of hyping up a stronger character.

The closest I can think of to this is Saturn’s death. But that actually serves to progress the plot.

Kid dying would be meaningless. Why should Kid die, after being built up as a major pirate of the worst gen and being credited for defeating a yonko, when characters like Moria who are far weaker come back after being destroyed numerous times?

Another point: One Piece is in its final stage, Oda no longer has time to cook up characters. Kid is useless for anything other than Power scaling, we know that Oda hates that.
Are y’all reading two piece? Kid is one of Luffy’s strongest allies.

His behaviour and rather underhelming power compared to others

idk which fandom you belong to or how much you value portrayal.
Kidd has been portrayed as a legitimate rival to Luffy multiple times.
His feats in Wano were also not bad and his bounty reflects that.

We know that he will ultimately lose.
But hey, so will everyone else.

You are probably right.
His cockiness is what makes him a prime target for slander.

I don't think the prediction that he'll literally come back is in any contention. Many other characters will be making an appearance in the final saga in some capacity after all. Probably even BM and Kaido who are "dead".

The question is, will he be relevant, much less pivotal, to the plot in the same way he was in Wano? I think that's a toss-up.

Yes, he has had build-up that requires a satisfying arc and conclusion to his story to justify his presence in the first place.

However, if you observe the general patterns in the story, you'd long have realized Oda has been over-crowding it with too much shit in general. And much of it doesn't lead anywhere or conclude in a satisfying manner. How many times has he over-indulged on things he finds interesting in the moment, then quietly ignores indefinitely? The Straw Hats are the pillars of this story, and Oda has demonstrated that even they are not immune to this irresponsible behaviour.

If Kid makes a token appearance with no narrative substance (or no appearance at all), can we really say he'd be an anomaly? Or just another one of Oda's tossed-aside playthings that he couldn't conclude in a satisfying manner?

I mean Oda said it’s a battle royale, so Kidd is one of the weaker pirates, so he was eliminated. He could be revived by idk his “team”. He just won’t be in good condition. If he comes back he still might get eliminated. He also has one arm so he’s not super strong if you think about it.
