The most based thing about OP is that Luffy cared more about Cricket then any other NPC he´s ever met

Definitely one of the most touching stories of the series. That whole Noland storyline was brutally tragic. Glad he's been vindicated after all this time.

I honestly don't think it's One Piece. People complain about the series as if there is some big, hot series replacing it.

Is there? Did One Piece really fall off that much? What big series out there is that well liked? IMO anything popular gets shit on all the time.

Or does the world just suck so much more ass than it used to? If Alabasta, Skypiea, or Thriller Bark were released today people would shit all over them.

I think life in general is just much more miserable than it was pre-time-skip. A lot of people are tired of the journey, sadly, and just want results.

Right now there's huge shift from Manga to Manhwa and then Light novels.
People preferences are changing as far as I saw.
And light novels ofc provide better plot in general if not over the top
