Imho it would be much better if it was a mix of having a good haki and some strategy required to disable the regen cuz if it's just " your haki is not strong enough yet " it's just boring.....( imho ofc )

Could be, but a lot bunch of people are going to fight the HK, some of the fairly "weak" and some of them don't even have have basic haki now.

It is far more probable that it is some trick like flame on/off.
