Character Discussion Caribou needs to be reassessed

Caribou was considered an unimportant gag character. At best, Blackbeard's Bartolomeo. This chapter ought to have changed that. He is not a genuine BB fanboy. The one he supports, apart from himself, is god.

With his long sleeves he looks like a Praying Mantis.

His god is probably not Nika, he is a bad guy. It is also not Enel.
His eyes should give it away.

He serves Imu

Even though it makes alot of sense, there are still open questions. Why did he not want to go to Maryjoa? Why was he upset, that he was on a government island on Egghead? Maybe he doesn't know that the god that is speaking to him is the king of the world.
His shirt looks like a straightjacket. He is like a schizophrenic that hears voices. Maybe he hears Imu's voice, like the Holy Knights, but doesn't know from where it comes.

He will soon learn it. There are many connections between him and Gunko. Not just the sleeves. Caribou will be given to the WG by Blackbeard. His storage ability will come in handy. He will meet Gunko.

Yeah, there definitely is something more than meets the eye (heh) to Caribou. I'm just not sure what.

Part of me wonders if he could be Rocks D Xebec in disguise? They have similar, but not the same, silhouettes. Similar long hair, similar eyes, similar attitudes. He's just been rocking the "wet hair" look for the past few decades.

But, I don't think he's the best candidate for a "hidden" Xebec. That's actually Big News Morgans. We still haven't seen Big News Morgans' human form. Plus, "Morgans" is pretty similar to "Morganeer", the term for evil pirates from the Romance Dawn prototype one-shots. And Morgans is in a great spot to secretly influence the world from the shadows, running the newspaper.

I do feel like it's possible that he has one of the God Fruits. Specifically, the Earth God Fruit. His ability to store an almost infinite amount of stuff in his Swamp is actually kind of overpowered if you think about it.

But, he's not the only potential candidate there for being a "Hidden Earth God", either. Boa Hancock's Love Fruit fits the bill, too, since she can literally turn people to stone. Plus, Amazon Lily looks like it COULD be the resting place of the Hellflame Serpent from the Chapter 1138 Mural. The snake "statues" on Amazon Lily may actually be the Hellflame Serpent that got turned to stone. That might even be what Blackbeard wanted to unpetrify using the Love Fruit's power. Plus, the irony of the current "Earth God" having a crush on "Nika", when they used to be enemies during the First World, is almost too tempting to pass up.

Maybe he has some sort of connection to Imu and Mihawk, because of the ringed eyes? I could see Oda revealing yet another "endangered race" of people with special powers down the line. To join the Three Eyes, Lunarians, and Buccaneers.

But, other than the eyes, I don't really see much connection between these people. Imu, Mihawk, Cavendish/Hakuba, and Caribou don't seem to share any sort of special abilities or similar talents with each other. As far as I can tell, anyway. Maybe you could say they all have "split personalities" or "two sides" to them? They're all "two faced"? But, that feels like a stretch at the moment.

So, I don't know. He's a solid potential candidate for being revealed to be something important down the line. But, he's not the most compelling option for any of them. I do think he's going to get some sort of a reveal about his true nature. But, I'm just not sure what. I feel like Caribou is right on the cusp on being incredibly important. Possibly in multiple ways. But, I just don't have a firm handle on him.
