Shunsuiju has a special formation?

Something I've noticed when rereading Hango Arc. It's stated that Shunsuiju is able to stop Bajio, Tajifu and Shunmen with "some kind of tricky strategy" but it's never revealed what that was.

Any theories on what could this be? Is it some formation he developed or there's something else going on?

I've always interpreted the "tricky strategy" comment as reflecting that mountain character's lack of strategic acumen.

SSJ having developed countermeasures to the mountain warriors would be interesting. I don't recall any signs of particular formations but I also wasn't looking.

Just overwhelm them with numbers and arrows+ssj was never about formations and strategy,he is more about traps/cruelty...He is closer to kanki than Ri Boku/SHK.

But seriously,The Zhao Right was made up of Zhao-Xiongnu war veterans+and SSJ being a Xiongnu himself,they all have enough experience to identify mountain armies's weakness(no matter how small it is),he probaly just observed some kind of weakness in their advance and exploited to the fullest,something very effective when you just want to buy time and stall an enemy that you outnumber.

Don't see a reason why he can't be about both.

Hard to say from that panel. But I think even the most basic of strategists have formations for their individual selves. But whether he was using formations there to trap based tactics, no idea. Mountain people also ain't exactly the normal ones to use for tactic gauging.
