It’s crazy how hard Kakashi mogs Sasuke. Bro went through just as much as Sasuke did, if not more tbh, and didn’t become an emo edgelord
Tbf Kakashi didn’t have a target for his anger. Everyone he was mad at was dead. Sasuke had an active goal and was given an opportunity to achieve it via Orochimaru.

6 year old Kakashi has nobody but his dead parents to be angry with.

Yes, Kakashi surprisingly turned out great despite all of that. I’m just saying that Sasuke going down the other path isn’t laughable, it’s actually expectable.
Honestly him going down that path would be fine if his character didn't radically do a 180 at every turn post Itachi fight. He went through so many phases in such a short timespan it just wasn't believable writing at all.

Agreed. Especially considering the relatively peaceful times Sasuke grew up in and suddenly he was struck with the Genocide on his clan carried out by his own brother.

These kids were insane

Two changes, around chapter 403 where he wants to destroy Konoha and again at 627-ish where he decides to protect it.

This is a really good point, Itachi represented all of the injustices in the world for Sasuke. It was ingrained in his mind, his very world view centered around trying to take back control of his life by killing Itachi. It’s also expected that he’d get his mind fucked over by realizing that Itachi was also a victim the entire time. Y’all try taking that amount of mental trauma at 16 years old 😂

Kakashi’s mom died when he was young, his dad literally killed himself when Kakashi was like 8 years old, his best friend “died” (in large part because of his mistakes), he inadvertently killed his other teammate with his own bare hands, and his sensei died when he was 14
Kakashi is a depressed mess in his anbu days

we only got to see a grown Kakashi who’d you imagine learn to cope better. Even then in the pain arc he accepted death so easily so it kinda implies he never grew out of his suicidal tendencies

Yeah—the sole person you idolized more than any other, butchers your family and mentally torments you at least 2x times.

Then you leave your village, friends and life behind for the sole mission of killing him even if it kills you. Only to find out the entire premise of your revenge, your entire life, is built on a lie by the village you left.

To someone who’s so goal oriented and focused on getting his own pay back, yeah I think Sasuke’s choice to go against Konoha makes sense. He’s just swapped Itachi for Konoha

Yeah I don’t know what series shiroyu dead because Kakashi in Gaiden is semi sociopathic. He literally was fine with letting Rin die lol

Obito had to wake him tf up.

Even within the destroy Konoha phase he went through different phases. He went completely batshit insane during the Danzo fight when he stabbed Karin, and tried to kill Sakura. How he went from that to standing side by side with Team 7 is beyond me.

And even still that's 2 too many phases considering he had to switch into these phases from a different phase to begin with.

He’s what the fandom thinks Part 1 Sasuke is, an insufferable brat who is so hooked on what happened to him, he projects that insecurity to everyone around him (Obito more than anyone).

Post-Konoha crush arc he meets with Yugao at the memorial stone and says he stands in front of it every day for hours?

It takes a back seat in Shippuden but every time he’s late in part 1 it’s because he’s sitting at the memorial lol. He’s just as emo as Sasuke but without anyone to lash out at

I’m not the biggest Sasuke fan, but at least he gets character development and is integral to the plot. Zoro has really been a nothing character since post-TS. His last piece of character development was all the way back in TB. Oda’s treatment of Zoro is almost as bad as his treatment of Chopper tbh

Bruh even in shippuden Obito calls him trash and Kakashi is like “yeah I’m trash but you were my idol”

Kakashi is kinda more pathetic than Sasuke tbh, because at least Sasuke takes action(bad actions ofc) Kakashi just mopes around waiting for the day he dies so he can apologize to Obito

I thinks he’s warranted a freak out with Danzo lol. Not only does Danzo taunt Sasuke about his dead family but he also has literal sharingan attached to him.

The second part, idk. I can see the issues with it and it could’ve been done better, I don’t mind it. Sasuke decides he wants to ask questions before he commits to anything and is shaken by his brothers last moments, showing him that genjutsu of their parents. I like the fact that Sasuke still has the same mindset the entire series too when he discovers his answer.

There is no magic peace, he’s going to execute those most responsible for the Shinobi worlds current conditions and then make himself the ire of everyone for the sake of a common enemy. He’s applying his own mindset of “they’ll want vengeance like I would “so he’ll be the villain.

He at least comes off as more mature and stable in Shippuden. Like full respect to Kakashi for being able to go for the kill against Sasuke and Obito.
