If shounen were a library, Sasuke wouldn’t just be a standout book. He’d be the very shelf on which all the others are organized. While deuteragonists like Vegeta, Bakugou, or Zoro (if you want to consider him one, which he actually isn't, but let's make an exception) shine in their own ways, Sasuke transcends comparison—because his narrative isn’t just a side story, but the thematic backbone of Naruto. He’s the deuteragonist against which all others are measured.

Sasugay by far. He had character development that went thru several stages and was pretty cool for the most part. Post-Shippuden his novels are also damn good. The fault is with how retarded everybody acts around him like pardoning his crimes with only slap on the wrist

One of the few cool characters in Bordo too, no aura farming, smart, but like everybody else he get shafted to make Burrito look good

Sasuke is terrible, he's basically like if Mihawk became a main character. People like him because of his cool/bullshit hax abilities, but he sucks. He had the potential to be one of the greatest manga characters of all time in part 1, but his consistently terrible decisions and getting bailed out by sharingan (or someone with a sharingan ability) in pretty much every scenario makes him awful.

Yes Sasuke had character development, but his character development was shit. Sasuke had everything handed to him and still managed to fuck it up at every opportunity. And he didn't even have the decency to die at the end.

Zoro has never been MC material, but he adds exactly what he needs to, to the story without being overbearing. He fits his role perfectly, Sasuke is just annoying.

Zoro is the best functional supporting character in shonen:

1) He doesn't get in the way;

2) He doesn't question Luffy;

3) He doesn't have existential crises.

But is that a virtue? It's just narrative comfort. Zoro is a glorified support: he cuts down pirates, makes "lost" jokes, repeats "Captain".

Sasuke? He sabotages the status quo, challenges the protagonist, and forces the plot to evolve. Sasuke is "irritating" because he forces you to confront:

1) Konoha’s hypocrisy (the "heroes" who ordered the Uchiha massacre);

2) The ethics of revenge (was Itachi the villain or the victim?);

3) The price of redemption (how do you forgive someone who tried to kill your friends?).

If he irritates you, he’s served his purpose: deuteragonists aren’t supposed to be "adorable", they’re supposed to be challenging.

Not disagreeing or agreeing that Sasuke is a better character, but to be fair, this just means he and Zoro have entirely different purposes, which is fine. That doesn't make Zoro inferior to him.

Sasuke is a better character because he is more complex than some guy who’s whole purpose revolves around being the strongest swordsman. Zoro is a very one dimensional character. He’s not changed at all since his introduction where as Sasuke was completely different person by the end of Naruto.

EDIT: Forgot about this one.
Yeah I don't care about whether or not Zoro is better than Sasuke but saying he doesn't question Luffy at all is just madness.
A lot of people don't understand Zoro's character and that really shows in debates like this. I don't care if Sasuke is better than him, but come on lol. Can't just be spreading lies for the sake of agenda.

One of the recent instances, when they were traveling to Elbaph, was met with criticism that Zoro was acting out of character. People either have poor memory, or they want to reduce Zoro to the yes-man they claim to criticize.
