People are misinterpreting this as a >new level of haki.
It is not, aCoC can NOT be trained to be stronger. This is an established rule that people keep ignoring.
It is just a different application, particularly useful against those with regen but not useful as a general buff.

I could see Oda revealing Zoro's Ashura on kaido being the new improved Coc version.
He's done this type of stuff before with Breath of all things being flowing Sakura in wano.
Kaido commented Zoro has Coc after Ashura but the visual cues for Coc coating were absent,and there were no fodders around to faint so it's debatable what made kaido say this.
Oda could easily retcon it into something else.

Ngl Waban saved Sanji's entire career within a few chapters. It's insane actually.

Also, I think Zoro being clueless about his CoC skill is rather funny because this shows that Zoro still has his goofy side from pre ts instead of the 24/7 stoic and serious version.
That's been an issue which all strawhats shared since the timeskip when they were extreme versions of their pre ts versions and how Oda neglected them.
