I don't exactly love it myself, but it appears to definitely be a thing, going by Oda's SBS answer on Garp's punch hurting Luffy indeed being love and not Haki, and Sanji defying the laws of physics in destroying Kizaru's laser.

I have no doubt Kuma saving Bonney was powered by PoL.

I also believe Rouge was able to carry Ace for 20 months because of PoL.

imo PoL is related to Haki, but it's not necessarily its own branch.

They are lot of things that are unexplained in the manga people handwave cause they cant explain it. Like most people are assblasted about this because its sanji and oda having him special treatmeant but no one can explain for example how kuma was moving being litterarly disabled

tbf I'd also be miffed if Oda were to introduced another power system this late into the story

Not elemental in that sense, but along the lines the elements that make up Haki.

I think PoL is essentially the purest, more powerful form of Haki, one that could possibly enhance all manner of abilities, whether's conjuring fire, destroying lasers, or having a Lady Radar.

Why would it be cucking Sanji if he’s investing time & effort into writing a completely unique development route for Sanji’s character development? Surely it’d be much easier to just give him ACoC and call it a day. Maybe just maybe, Oda doesn’t think ACoC is a necessity for Sanji to reach the levels of strength he will end up reaching EoS which is at the bare minimum will be Prime Gaban’s level who like you’ve just stated is an ACoC user.

I don’t know what Oda’s gonna do with Sanji tbh & kudos to Oda for that as he’s keeping the whole fandom on their toes. He might get CoC or he might not. Regardless won’t be a negative for Sanji as even if he doesn’t get ACoC he will get an alternative PU that can compensate for that.

Unique powers can be good in a system that is not so well-established. Haki is the power that transcends all and can nullify DF abilities. ACoC is possessed only by a handful of the very strongest and is the only known way to hurt those who sold their soul to Imu.

If Sanji didn't awaken CoC and ACoC, whatever CL²³ Oda introduces in their stead will appear as a cheap ACoC copy while undermining Sanji's role in the crew and his relation with Zoro.

PoL being Sanji's unique way to CoC works perfectly fine. PoL being the source of his fire, of his laser proof and fire resistant body and so on works even better. In the post Wano One Piece CoC is necessary to stay relevant (sadly)
