Squid game season 3

Idk why the ending is so unpopular on Reddit. I personally really liked it. I would say though, while I do like it, the ending could have been a lot better. S3 is probably the worst season but that's not too much criticism, it's just a testament to how much of a masterpiece S1/2 were.

And while each episode of S3 was brilliant by itself, idk why but the overall product feels a lot lesser than the sum of the parts.

My main criticisms are:

1) Jun Ho being completely hoed. His character was so amazing in S1, I thought it would be even better here. When he barely did anything in S2, I coped by thinking S3 will be his season. He did barely anything. Him finding the island with everyone on the search crew dead in the last 20 minutes is bullshit. And he did nothing. We didn't even get a proper conversation of him with his brother. Waste of potential

2) Min Su. Absolutely FUCKING GARBAGE character. The fucking epitome of a fucking loser. I never really liked him to begin with because he was a fucking loser in S2, I never hated him because his delusional fans were telling me he was gonna have a redemption in S3. And he did for a bit. It took too much time in the season but him sending the bully to his death on the skipping rope game was amazing. Then, he became 50x worse than in S2. ONE PILL made this loser into a crackhead and he did absolutely nothing other than have schizophrenic delusions about one fine girl that was nice to him (whom he fucking failed to save in the most pathetic manner possible). He died an absolute pathetic death. Good lord, I was happy to see him go. Idk

3) Too much focus on the baby. Probably the most self explanatory and popular criticism. Though I'm not too heavy on it unlike most people.

With that being said, it did have peak moments. A lot. A Starry Night was a 12/10 episode. 007 and his mom's death were both so emotional, I was holding back tears. Dae Ho being hunted down and that shaman bitch dying was amazing to see. The trans woman was an MVP man. It was painful to see her die. A real shame.

Gi Hun and In Ho are among the best written characters I have come across. I love them both so much. People say In Ho deserved a backstory, and while I agree he deserved a longer one, I still love the short parallel we got of him with Gi Hun. In Ho presumably came back to end the games and when he realised that people are simply irredeemable, he caved into the dark side and became the front man. Gi Hun, meanwhile, stayed true to his ideals to the very end. His death was absolutely magnificent writing. The 1v1 with MG Coin was great and oh my god, I was always wondering about the button not being pressed but that being the reason for his death was absolutely painful. The edits I'm seeing on it is making me depressed. Magnificent character man, I love him a ton. The announcer saying "Player 456 is eliminated" was probably the elimination announcement that stung the most. I didn't expect to hear it.

I also liked MG Coin's sudden descent into madness. There were always signs of it but idk why people dislike it. It's really realistic. Money turns people into monsters to an extent it's hard to even imagine. That's the point the author tried to get across and he did it really well.

The games not ending is amazing symbolism. It is meant to be a real depiction of the world after all and it gets the point very across. No matter how much good people struggle, even if they get a job done, it only removes one "cancer cell". The overall cancer will never end. This cycle of rich people exploiting the poor in this world will never either. You can never end it.

I loved the sequence they had to hunt each other that was a fun game, this season did a good job wrapping up everyone's story, including the main character, its definitely better than s2 which felt incomplete but it didnt have the same charm as s1 imo overall I give this season a 7/10 and as a whole I give the series a solid 8.5

Realistic and greatest ending sometimes good guys don’t win it’s same in real life . Bad guys get their way but Gi hun shook the very ideology of In ho saying humanity was dead and it gave him introspection .

I feel In ho will live rest of his life very conflicted and it questioned his morality . Hopefully in spin off he will play key role in destroying the game itself .

I know that In Ho still continuing to host the games or retiring from it is left to speculation but in my headcanon, he's done with it. He lost the war vs Gi Hun since Gi Hun proved he was the better human even when faced with the same exact bleak situation as him. The fact he respected Gi Hun enough to return the money to his daughter so she can lead an amazing life is sweet too. He's probably just gonna be retired and do his own thing

Last scene he was seen noding his head to Care Blanchett it indicates he is still very much part of it . But it can go either way I totally agree .
