Controversial Dragon Quest Megathread

What’s your favorite Dragon Quest game? Either mainline games or side story alternate games?
All of the Dragon Quest games I have are DS games btw.

My Dragon Quest journey started with Dragon Quest 9 (of which I lost the cartridge sometime in early Highschool and was up to after having defeated Purrvis)
Then I got Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 1 and Dragon Quest 6. By far the hardest game to beat just the main game and not the super secret boss was by far Dragon Quest 6. Dragon Quest 5 tho was peak, it was nice seeing main character of Dragon Quest V’s harem in Reapers Peak for Dragon Quest 6.
I also purchased 9 again and beat the main game like last year, idk how I did it tho I got really lucky I guess. Corvus was cool I guess.

I haven’t touched a lick of Dragon Quest 9’s post game tho.
for 5 and 6 I’ve beaten both Nokturnus (6) and Estark (5). But for Dragon Quest Monsters Joker it’s like nigh impossible to defeat the Estark super boss. (I still haven’t lmao)

Only ever played Dragon Quest XI, I remember thinking the towns were pretty cool in that game.

One of the most epic games ever made by mankind.

A medieval fantasy journey that barely got any defect. It's really addicting expecially for a first timer. Full of life, amazing characters, adventure and a great story.

Reminds me of One Piece in some regards...

Dragon Quest XI is also fantastic, better when it comes graphics and gameplay, but less good when it comes to soundtracks and overall epicness imo.
