To be fair, he's probably lucky to have made it to jail in time. Before he got apprehended by the authorities, the Korean people on their own initiative were organising lynch mobs for that bloke specifically.
Remember that all Korean men participate in mandatory military service. Somali already had his shit rocked by an ex-military man that hunted him down, I think I saw claims of ex spec-ops. Anyway, the SK authorities practically gave the lowest possible sentence for that assault and the fine was paid off by loads of Korean people chipping into a crowd fund.
By this point, that jail is protecting him from the South Korean population. He'd probably be dead in a ditch otherwise.
