I don't think the speed at which this will expand will catch Kaidou who has FS to prevent and enough movement speed for evasion, Kaidou sometimes moves like this:

That works for Kisame on land, but it's a different story in the air. We can clearly see it's below cloud level, and it doesn't seem instantaneous. Plus, Kaido has Future Sight and good enough evasion to escape its range.

If he wants to catch Kaido, who would be above the cloud surface, he'll need to increase the size of that thing — which won’t be a problem for Kaido, as he just needs to keep his distance from the water sphere.

Kisame follows on the ground, in the air it's another thing, we can clearly see that it's lower than the height of the clouds and it doesn't seem instantaneous to me and Kaidou has good enough FS + evasion to escape the range.

The water follows Kisame with him at the center, if he swims forwards the water goes forwards, if he swims up the water goes up, there is no escape.

It is instant, and Kaido does not/cannot use future sight without thieving drunk mode, and he doesn't fight seriously like that.

No i meant if Blueno will take him to his own dimension Kaido realistically would come back. I don't think that Kaido can just punch Obito in kamui state.
