We don't even know what "them" was referring to, they might've said "them" because they figured out Teach was there with his crew and not alone.

Marco said Teach has an abnormal body, so Teach managing to eat two fruits isn't as surprising to Marco, after all Teach doesn't even sleep, still Marco had absolutely no idea how exactly he used two fruits simultaneously.

In Imu's case however, the only question is does King Nerona Imu exist? Yes or no? Did Ivankov just baselessly make up that character?
The "them" by Luffy/Zoro was in response to Nami calling Blackbeard "him", so no.

Right so there are factual possibilities explaining why Blackbeard was able to do what he did, therefore it isn't actually a mystery by your logic.

Ivankov suggesting they could be the same person is a theory, not a fact, Ivankov himself even considers the logic a "wild leap" and uses words like "coincidentally" and "maybe", these aren't confident claims backed up by facts, they are ideas being thrown at a wall and hoping something sticks.

"Him? No, not him, "them", he has his crew with him."

Makes sense doesn't it?

You didn't answer me does Imu Nerona exist or not?

So they somehow saw something Nami couldn't and even when Nami asks them about it, they don't bother explaining, just acting all mysterious, yeah, Oda was totally talking about his invisible crew and not Blackbeard himself.

Imu Nerona exists, but it has nothing to do with my post.

All of his crew at the time was at the island, they just weren't spotted acting together, Luffy and Zoro figuring out that those people are actually one group isn't a stretch.

Let's see what Imu and Imu Nerona have in common:

1.Same name
2.Both WG Kings
3.Both Ancient
4.Both hated Joyboy

And as a little bonus, Imu was visibly triggered and changed the topic when Cobra mentioned Imu Nerona's name.

Yeah definitely not the same person :suresure:

It is a gigantic stretch, like a Luffy reaching his limits level stretch. Luffy and Zoro who are genuine dumbasses somehow picked out Blackbeard's crew from the hundreds to thousands of people on the island even though they weren't actually with Blackbeard
:luffylaugh:
The conclusion is conjecture, not factual.

Teach is my favourite character, but Imu is more mysterious for sure.

We already know that Teach´s body is ¨special¨ according to Marco, which means he´s probably some weird race, mutant or has had experimentation done on him.

Btw, anyone arguing that Luffy and Zoro could figure out Teach was multiple people, but WB, Shanks, his crew and Marine hq, who all refer to him as an individual are just dumb.

Luffy isn't as dumb as you make him look, he has a low attention span and is usually reckless, yet he is very perceptive, his battle iq and thinking of solutions to problema in the heat of the moment is easily on a genius level.

Wouldn't be difficult to point them out in a mass of people because every single one of the BB pirates was super noteworthy and memorable.

Van Augur shooting down the birds even though he's insanely far away.

Doc Q with his weird scheme with the exploding apples.

Burgess looking for a worthy fight while easily beating people up.

Teach and Luffy arguing about the pie and Luffy's bounty.

You can't look at those examples and say that the BB pirates looked like just random guys that weren't memorable at all, everyone other than them seemed like random fodder on that island.

You forgot to mention that Imu considers Teach just as dangerous as Luffy and Shirahoshi. Also, Teach has a special lineage.

Marco probably said that because he doesn't function like your average Joe, after all, Teach doesn't even sleep.

Imu:
  • Unknown power
  • Unknown origins
  • Unknown name
  • Unknown gender
  • Unknown appearance
  • Unknown age
  • Unknown goal/ambitions
Fatty:
  • We have seen both his devil fruits used extensively
  • We know at least 70% of his origins, including where he was born and what his chilldhood was like
  • We know his name
  • We know his gender
  • We know what Fatty looks like
  • We know his age
  • We know exactly what his goal is
Only in the One Piece fandom will people legitimately argue that a figure literally made of shadows is less mysterious than this guy

Imu's identity and powers?

Teach stealing 2nd DF power and using 2 DF powers with his unique body and also never sleeping?

I used to think they’re both quite close for me but Teach’s lineage and being able to defy the natural law of devil fruits which is the power system of OP itself without any explanation so far makes him a more mysterious character thus far. Imu’s being carried by his connections to the void century. I can’t really care for his powers. Stuff feels like a disney movie.

Overall in terms of mystery:

Void Century > Teach >>>>>> Imu

For now imu. Imu is tied to void century and is definitely the devil being shown on left hand side of the mural in elbaph.

BB is also mysterious in terms of lineage and capability of 2 DF but we still know more about him.

Mystery or not, Imu really isn't interesting. Eneru already did the God Complex better and a villain who is a demon masquerading as a God is pretty much a cliche in Japanese media nowadays.
