The key players of God Valley all have descendants who are key players in the final war.
Luffy is Garp’s grandson
Shanks and Shamrock are Garling’s sons
Teach is Xebec’s son
The only other key player in God valley who isn’t represented in the final war is Roger, who’s only descendant supposedly died in MF.
But what if this wasn’t the case? I think Koby being Roger’s grandson would make a lot of sense, as far as the plot goes.
In the one piece world, children are persecuted for the crimes of their parents and ancestors. This is a key policy of the world government, but even in wano, you can still see this ideology implemented. By the EoS, this needs to be resolved somehow.
One way this could be done is if the Hero of the new era was tied to the villain of the old era, whereas the villain of the new era is tied to the Hero of the old era. Enter Luffy and Koby. Luffy is the grandson of Garp the hero, yet he wants to be pirate king and he is Nika. The same Nika that is often viewed as a destroyer(regardless of if this is actually true). If Koby, the hero of this era, was the grandson of Roger, the villain of old, that would turn the WG’s narrative of bloodlines on its head.
It would prove one’s bloodline has no impact on if they are or aren’t a good person.
