This all got me wondering:
We know Oda likes to touch sensitive topics, like in whitebeards crew its unforgivable to kill your own crewmates; mothers neglecting their child's existence (now with Loki's flashback), Sanji getting abused by family, Robin losing everyone, and so on.
But there is one that is worse than all of them:
A father killing their own son for self interest or power gain.
What if one of Xebec's catalyst for coming back is for him to somehow kill Blackbeard as like part of a grand plan, using blackbeard as a vessel.
Just Imagine Xebec with Gura, Yami (with awakening) and possibly Imu's fruit powers.
Its over.

Oh my god yeah, no character has more wasted potential in the Manga. All for Luffy we got canon Shanks who:
Lost his arm
Partied for the best part of two decades with like what? A month or so of doing vaguely hype shit throw in where he has to play prep-work for Luffy
Got scared by Blackbeard
Potential Shanks meanwhile:
Immortal thanks to Imu buff
Nika fruit
Two arms
No scar
Potential Black Blade
Spent the better part of two decades still of and on fighting with Mihawk, perhaps Garling and Shamrock etc with X amount of Haki blooms for extra boosts
Potential awakened mythical devil fruit buff for his sword (if he does not already have it in canon)
This whole "he is the destined child" shit he has going on is DEEPLY tragic because his destiny was legit "nah, you are not HIM, that is some random kid with the D initial. You a Celestial Dragon, be happy you can play mentor figure to the REAL hero" in the form of Luffy.

I also love how they use characters from the past to claim that Mihawk is superior simply because he has a black blade. Since it's never stated that this is a feat of strength, it could simply be a connection to the sword or excessive training. Remember, Dembele or Raphinha could be chosen as the best in the world this season; that doesn't mean they're on the same level as Messi.

Hajrudin excuse is that he was introduced in the story before Oda invented Harald and Xebec and decided that Harald was this strong
