Rocks didn't have Sky splitting moment before this chapter. It doesn't mean he can't do it before this chapter. It's just a sky splitting moment, not Roger/WB moment or whatever. Roger vs WB was more impactful and devastating than this one. Xebeck wasn't at his strongest when he clashed with Harald, and Kaido put Oden alongside Roger, WB, Shanks and Prime Rocks. Not that I think he's comparable to them, but he's not less than Harald was when he clashed with Rocks.
Even roger vs wb didnt had a sky split but its said it was
Clouds are the same with harald and rocks like roger wb
Its clearly a skysplit

"Like a hammer or a cannon..."

This was ultimately Oda's excuse to remove Shanks and Roger from the swordsman category...

Although I have to admit that Shanks's final victory over Mihawk in Xebec's flashback was somewhat random.
He's definitely not a swordsman because he uses the sword like other instruments (hammer and cannon).

Shanks won

Okay well when Oda actually justifies Mihawk > Shanks, I’ll be on board with the rest of y’all.

but at this point, it seems like it is Shanks who actually gets all the feats, and Mihawk is upscaled merely by his association with Shanks.
Justifies? You act like Mihawk's title is an opinion, not fact. If there were scenes in the managa where people stated he was a fraud or questioned whether he really is the WSS that would be different, but there is not

Mihawk have received feats. Unfortunately, some choose to ignore them because it goes against their agenda. His latest one was defeating the 3 seraphims sent to emptee bluff Island.

Why are you spending so much time debating when you can just post the edit of Xebec’s swordsmanship and the 1058 panel and call it a day. Lol

Zoro also uses his sword like a canon in multiple attacks, he explicitly Calls one of his attacks a Canon

Brook’s attacks in Ryuma’s body are also called “Like a gun”

so, you’re saying Zoro and Brook are also not swordsmen?
