I have always said Oda never put emphashis on Shanks sword skill, now well with rocks he did. There is no way to cope it about.
I mean I was right about Roger not doing cut damage, because if he did he would have made a scar on Kaido, but if Oda and editor decide to threat this style of Shockwave as a swordsmanship, no matter how illogical it is then it is swordsmanship.

Mihawk himself is in a very different spot because hes the only person in this story with that role, which is why I can absolutely believe he's the WS and combatively, scales over other swordmen in history (including Shamrock, Shanks, Garling, Roger, Xebec, etc).

The issue with this is, this would be completely inconsistent with how Mihawk was written.

The only man said to be Roger’s equal was WB. And Mihawk doesn’t have feats or portrayal suggesting he rivals WB.

All he has is a title which derives its hype from Shanks

I don't know about Shanks being second but one thing is sure: He isn't close to Mihawk at all. Mihawk would have dueled him if he pushed him to extreme diff but no he doesn't. He is ready to duel a one-eyed swordsman but not a one-armed one, only logical explanation is Mihawk is a tier above Shanks. Shanks can't push Mihawk past high diff

The only reason you're affected to this degree about liking shanks is because you're paying attention to what people on this forum or outside of it say about shanks, and now the way everything is perceived from a powerscaler perspective has essentially brainrotted your mind so you can't look at it the same anymore and just enjoy shanks in the story.

you need to go back to just reading weekly stepping away from this environment, but I know a big part of it is talking and reacting with the community but maybe you should try rereading the story simply for the sake of narrative and narrative themes and rewire your brain
