General & Others One Piece Fatigue

Anyone else suffering from massive OP fatigue?

I've always been one of the biggest Oda defenders, but after being massively disappointed in the last 3 arcs

WCI- Big Meme was trash and that's when I started noticing the story lines were getting disjointed af.

Wano- Too many unnecessary characters and too damn long. If Oda had kept in within 2 yrs it could have been an epic arc, but no, we had to know the backstory of characters no one gaf about and then skim over the backstories of the ones we were interested in. Also, Yamato, Kaido and Oden were all trash imo. Law & Zoro moments were the only thing getting me through it. Roof top was good, but abandoned too quickly in favor of making Luffy god.

Egg Head-Vegapunk was trash, it's fine if he wasn't "cool" but he was inconsistent and obnoxious, and the ending was a clusterfuck of confusion. Kuma's backstory was sad but I found him frustratingly inconsistent as well, and I found him rather stupid tbh.

Now I find I cannot even force myself to start the Elbaf Arc. Hopefully, that will change when the animation restarts, but for now I just can't make myself read it. It's one reason I haven't been around here much. I know some people bash Oda for fun, but I really think he's lost the plot and is just dragging the story on because it's his bread and butter.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I kinda feel the same. I think it's more the weekly reading/watching. Watching whole cake and dressrosa did feel like a chore. It was boring, but it was great not being caught up. Now I'm caught up and it's feels like a chore, I don't even watch the anime anymore.
It's definitely not as good as it was pre timeskip but I still enjoy it. I guess a big reason as to why I'm not close to being burnt out is because I only became a fan around 2021, while a lot of other people here started watching/reading it a decade or two ago.
Same, I became a fan literally like 5 months before the airing of gear 5 in the anime

Yes
I agree with most of what you said
Horrible arcs back to back to back
I dropped the series at the end of Wano for about a year and then came back ( i can't bring myself to even read chapters anymore just spoilers )
I know some people bash Oda for fun, but I really think he's lost the plot and is just dragging the story on because it's his bread and butter.
I disagree
There is some shows where it's obvious the writer is dragging it on for more money but with One Piss i don't get that impression yet. Oda always dragged arcs too long, introduced useless goofy characters etc.. but it seems he just decided to go all in and made it unbearable post ts.
I genuinely think Oda believes he cooked with Oden, Yamato is a great and lovable character, Kaido is a deep villain etc..

Elbaf has been good so far but the past few years don't give me much hope regarding Oda's writing ability and i truly believe he's gonna do worse than Wano in the upcoming arcs. I expect the final arc to be shit, Imu to be a joke and Joyboy will be a pathetic loser like Oden.

Not really, A lot of people get fatigued and burned out from not just one piece but from long running franchises in general because they have the bad habit of going in expecting greatness, expecting every aspect of the story to be perfect and to make sense to how they think the story should go, but for me whose basically grown up with one piece I don't get burned out because I take every arc with a grain of salt, and while from a story standpoint some parts of one piece is bad, be it the pacing of the arc, the handling of certain characters or even how the arc wraps up, there are many aspects of each of the arcs you mentioned that where good

WCI- I think the way the handled big mom was unique, if Luffy came into WCI and just twerked on big mom that would downplay big moms strength and make it seem like Luffy got way to strong, way to fast. the plan to assassinate her via Mother Caramel picture and when that didnt work Sanji baked her a cake, all while Cake Peace was happening we also got a great back story for Sanji, learned Puddings circumstances and Luffy vs Katakuri still reigns as the best fight in post time skip.

Wano- Oda definitely got lost in the sauce with this one, the Oden flash back is arguably the worst flashback in one piece, the way Yamato didn't have her own character she was esstienally just a wannabe oden 2.0 which would of been fine had she learned throughout the arc that she can still admire oden while staying true to herself in fact that would of been the kind of development I like in characters but once again there are a lot of good to Wano, such as you mentioned Roof Piece, Zoro vs King was an amazing fight my favorite in the post time skip and we also got to learn a lot of important lore to the overall building block of one piece throughout the wano saga/arc such has the fact Wano was home to Pluton, we learned about the exsistence of rocks pirates, we learned that a lot about the world of one piece through wano.

Egghead- started out phenomenal but Oda tripped at the finish line introducing all 5 gorosei at once was a mistake especially when he introduced their subordinates the arc immediately following, not actually killing off the vegapunks was a mistake because what was the point of killing them in the first place? Kuma should of died on egghead, Oda is trying to force Bonney into a happy ending and that's not realistic. how ever like the arcs before it, it has it's good for example, we got the amazing murder mystery in the beginning tho i think york reveal shouldn't of been revealed so easily, the seraphim where fun to watch, we learned saul was still alive, and the best parts about egghead was the events outside of egghead, Law vs Blackbeard, Kid vs Shanks, Garps raid on Hachinosus, learning how Aokiji joined up with blackbeard pirates, seeing bits n pieces of joyboys backstory,

Elbaf has been great so far and that's coming from a active giant hater, hopefully oda doesnt slip at the finish line again.

Long Reply cut short

No Arc is perfect, all arcs have aspects that are down right terrible but most have aspects that are amazing, you gotta take the good with the bad, don't go in expecting blind greatness take everything with a grain of salt and that's how you can watch a 28 year old running series without getting fatiqued or burned out

It is almost universally agreed upon that Egghead was at least a good arc and that elbaf is becoming one of the best, so no the majority of OP fans are not fatigued. During Wano, more people would have been inclined to share your feelings.

That being said, if you generally don't feel OP right now, it is totally fine to take a break. Maybe wait until Elbaf is done and binge it, which imo, is the best way to enjoy OP.

Although WCI sucks and Big Mom could've being a lot better she is not that trash meme yall cope about it.

I was kind of the same. After G5 I took a month break for it (for someone who was constantly following weekly, urging for spoiler leaks almost living it 24/7 is a huge thing) then followed till the start of egghead and then lost interest again until things started to get more intense and the same repeated at Elbaf.

Yes the story is no longer interest to me but the fights still are... A lil bit... Or specially because I already watch/read over 1000 chapters/episodes that it doesn't make much sense to just drop it all.

But yea since WCI the writting has been poor.

Elbaph has been great so far. Lots of cool revelations, some serious powerhouses making moves, cool new characters etc.

EH was honestly pretty good for me, with the only issues being Vegapunk's broadcast being too long, Bonney's swiss army superpowers, and half the important stuff relating to Kizaru being offscreened or rushed (his fight with Luffy, his friendship with VP and him feeding Luffy could have been expanded upon way more).
