That's why I make sure to never overly idolize any celebrity. So many of them turn out to be like that.
Honestly I'm more disgusted by the fact that a lot of the people in the reddit thread I looked up were actually trying to handwave those statements away and go "Oh but he was a staple of boxing!!". Not even close to the first time we've seen celebrities have such avid fans that they're willing to excuse bigotry but I'd be ecstatic if it were the last.
