He was a terminally dependent DF user like everyone was at the time. According to Teach, Ace as a pretty major pirate in the NW wasn´t ¨used to gettting hit¨ because Oda didn´t really have the idea that armament haki would be a super common thing.

Not true & we saw this with Aokiji in that very same MF arc when he evaded WB’s bisento attack which showed extremely good mastery of his DF in combination with CoO.

We also saw admirals utilize barrier Haki in that very arc. Not to mention that they have high base stats and are also extremely competent in CQC.

Even Greenbull has shown that’s he’s can adequately counter fire which is his direct weakness.

I’m aware I’m measuring Croc against the very highest standard for Logia but these are Logia that were never over dependent on their DF even at that point in the series. MF Croc doesn’t hold a candle to them.

According to Pekoms, over confident Logias get crushed in the NW, and yet Crocodile was basically by himself(and with Mr 1, but that might as well not matter) for 2 years in the NW, never even ended up working for a Yonko. And he worked his way up to earning 2 billion as a bounty, and yeah, bounty scaling isn´t everything, but we know the YC´s are getting boosted from their captains, and for wiping out towns that don´t pay taxes to their captains, I think it´s certainly relevant that Oda had Crocodile near 2 billion, which is above any YC1´s we know for now(Shiryu and Beckman could be above him). Plus, unlike other Yonkos, Buggy is boosted by his subordinates. According to Law, if Buggy can command Croco and Hawkeye, he could be a yonko, he isn´t even singling out Mihawk, it´s both of them

With regards to Croc’s name, there’s no denying his infamy. Simply being a Warlord gives you that sort of gas in name recognition. It’d have been the same if we replaced Jinbe with Croc for example (I mean we saw how Kidd & Law reacted to him joining Luffy) yet we know where Jinbe is at PL-wise. Moreover we can’t really ignore that Cross Guild are literally putting bounties on marine soldiers heads which has even lead to some high ranking officials dying so it’s no surprise that his bounty is that high. Even compared to burning down towns, that is a lot more grave imo. On your comment on Pekoms, I mean given how powerful Ace and Croc’s dfs are it is no surprise that they were flexing in the new world . Ace was flexing till he got crushed by Teach. Was it ever mentioned that Croc faced any significant foes in the NW post-ts? I don’t think that fact has any bearing on him being over dependent on his DF.

I’m not saying Croc is gonna be outchea getting low diffed by Pekoms coz of it, his DF is simply to powerful for that but against some of those high tiers that have much higher base stats than Croc in addition to some hax like him, it’s hard to imagine him beating them without much better showings from him.

Btw I'm not saying that Croc cannot be as strong as some of y'all want him to be.
I'm just saying that there's gotta be a stronger arguments for it.

Croc coming back into the story with high level Haki prowess is simply not going to happen imo but there's room for improvement with regards to his DF mastery and maybe finding a way to counter-act his water weakness. If he can do that and we assume that his base stats are upscaled due to power creep then he would be more than a match for the stronger Yonko Commanders. However for him to go over that level, he will need to be given awakening or something imo.

Oda will be goated if he allows Akainu to kill a strawhat. That'll massively up the scales and generate true stakes in this mickey mouse plot armor ridden series.

ACoC clashes don’t even mean that characters are equals lol (though Garp is still close to Roger regardless). It just means neither character can steamroll the other.

Was Fruitless Primebeard equal to Roger because they had an ACoC clash?
Was Fruitless Oldbeard equal to Shanks because they had an ACoC clash?
Was Fruitless Luffy equal to Hybrid Kaido because they had an ACoC clash?
Was Yamato equal to Kaido because they had an ACoC clash?
Is Harald really PK+ level just because he had an ACoC clash with Xebec?

Seeing how Kaido was moving against G5, he can defo steamroll that base Luffy that split the sky with him

He didn’t want the Nika fruit. We can infer this because Teach doesn’t give a shit about the Nika fruit. It’s a mid fruit unless you can awaken it.

But in the Harley it is said that the Earth God and the Serpent shrouded the earth in death and darkness.

Earth God = Pluton(which is why Rocks wanted to find Galley La)
Serpent = Loki’s fruit(foreshadowed by his snake eyes)
Darkness = Yami

Both Gaban and Shanks are doing to Elbaf what Kaido did to Wano.
Since Elbaf is important in the war against the WG, Gaban is keeping unwanted people away from Elbaf (or at least he's trying to), while Shanks has made it part of his unofficial territory in preparation for his own anti-WG plan.
