Oda is clearly playing a game with their nicknames here. After Gold > Silver > Copper, now we have Golden Lion > Silver Axe. It also probably indicates that Shiki was probably a bit stronger than Silver Axe in their rivalry

I imagine the matchup in God Valley looked like this: Xebec, Whitebeard, Linlin, Kaido vs. Garp and Roger (maybe Garling joined too) Shiki and Silver vs. Rayleigh and Gaban Captain John, Wang Zhi, and all the other big names under Xebec vs. Holy Knights vs. Remaining Roger pirates vs. Bogard and Navy.
It now makes sense why we only saw Linlin, Kaido, and Whitebeard next with Xebec in the Sengoku version.

On the other hand, Oda did draw prime Shiki fighting both prime Garp and Sengoku with the battle being so intense it destroyed half MF. So at least he wanted to make it ambiguous who is stronger between Shiki and Garp

I know we all love to agenda, but why are we using the term 'cuck' for Roger?
Roger was never with Shakky - so he cannot be cucked by Ray.
Roger just wasn't Shakky's type. That's cool - it doesn't make Roger some beta bitch and Ray some giga alpha, or however people talk these days. This is just basic dynamics. I mean, think about it, what Oda is showing is - The Leader (Gloriosa) wanted the Roger Pirate's Leader (Roger). The second-in-command (Shakky) wanted the Roger Pirate's second-in-command (Ray).
