Again I don't understand why Roger is seen in a bad light here. Aside from trolling does anyone really believes that?
This arc has drawn out side by side scaling illiteracy to previously unseen levels.
If we used the logic used for this arc with Wano, we’d genuinely walk away with takes like Kaido = Big Mom = Luffy = Zoro = Sanji = Jinbei = Kid = Killer = Law = Drake. X fought next to Y and clashed with Z who was portrayed alongside A who is a rival with B, jesus wept.
Oda wants all these guys from the past to be seen as big powerful legends. They are strong in general. But there has been nothing to especially throw out the powerscale system the way people are acting.
At the end of the day, it’s still going to Roger = Primebeard > everyone else. And that includes Garp. Oda’s obviously going to make the two look good in their first ever fight scene, but that doesn’t change the fact we have seen plenty of characters say that Whitebeard was the only one to truly equal Roger.
The only exception is Rocks, who depending on how he’s beaten at God’s Valley is either the top dog of the generation, or the number two below Rogerbeard.
Like, it seems a lot of the people crowing about Kaido being “ powercrept” are just going to skip over Shiki being worried about a Kaido who is younger than Luffy at the start of his adventure, and with no DF, turning the island into a ruin with a fight with Rocks lmao.
