Well neither shanks or roger's kamusari cuts their opponent. It is more like a shockwave itself. Rock's attack doesn't seem that different than garp's. Oda could have given each of them different haki speciality imo.

It seems that no touch shockwave is the pinnacle of fighting with haki.

Depends what the end goal is. Events triggered by something involving Shakky is ok. Happens all the time irl even, people have shed blood over women, but Shakky can't simply be the goal, she can be a trigger that starts something greater and it's still salvageable.

What if Rocks COULD have dethroned Imu but the one mistake he made was also wanting Shakky and this was the only reason why Roger & Garp were hellbent on defeating him. They'd have joined sides with anyone to defeat Rocks, slave lives don't matter as much as their love for Shakky.😂
Had Rocks not wanted Shakky Roger wouldn't have given a fuck about Rocks defeating Imu and becoming King of the Pirates.
