If he's ray and shakkys son, then just him being born caused one of the greatest events in hachinosu's history according to this chapter, and even god valley after.
Since Mihawk being born is the reason shakky ended up at pirate island and then getting kidnapped by the WG.
Also he is the son of two of the most notorious pirates in history, he might even potentially be related to Luffy if that's the case.
His backstory could definitely be tied into the narrative as shakky's son, especially when it could tie into shanks story as well.
So if anything it's a narrative upscale. Either he was gonna have no relations, and people will just say he's a boring char and hate, or he has some narrative relevance and people hate on him for being ray's son, you cant please everyone.
Even Zoro is tied back to the only other black blade holder, Ryuuma, and he has Asura, yet you lot down downscale him for this kind of bullshit.
